COMMUNITY SERVICE Click here if you wish to perform community service at the Box Car Track in Kunia.
WEEKEND PROGRAM ABCRI's Free Youth Weekend Program is held year round each weekend for youth ages 9 and up. Younger kids are welcome if
a parent stays with them. Adults are welcome, too, (training available) and can work on projects with the youth.
A Parent of Guardian must come with their kids the first time to meet with an ABCRI staff member and fill out forms. Participating Youth who behave appropriately may then be at the track without
their parent or guardian present.
TO LEARN MORE, read below and then stop by the track during Open Track Hours (click here for hours), or call BC at the ABCRI office (947-3393).
The focus of ABCRI's Weekend Youth Program is giving community service, learning new skills and developing higher self-esteem.
Participating Youth have an opportunity to climb ABCRI's Leadership Ladder, which usually begins with picking up trash around the adjacent Kunia Park & Ride parking lot (community service), then moves into developing new skills by working on box cars and helping with site maintenance. As youth mature in our program they have an opportunity to assist ABCRI's staff as we instruct and supervise families learning safe driving skills on the box car track. Youth who dedicate themselves to moving up our Leadership Ladder often will earn a part-time job as they mature. More than half of ABCRI's staff are students.
