GENERAL INFORMATION
    
The ABCRI Box Car Track in Kunia is an excellent venue for your company's  employee events.  ABCRI's Team Building Events are intended to provide an exciting avenue for adult bonding and, if desired, goal setting. Your company's strategic plan for your team building event can range from a casual day of shared fun and learning to more a formally structured goal planning event.

   American Box Car Racing International (ABCRI) is a local nonprofit organization serving our youth and families since 1996. (click here for About ABCRI page)  Companies who have held events with us in the pass have told us what a great time they had.  We did not have to be told, though.  We only had to watch the company employees leave--big smiles, bouncy steps, talking a lot with each other!

ADULT TEAM BUILDING TRACK SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
1. Everyone must wear sports shoes covering feet entirely--Watch or Drive
2. Long pants recommended, but not required (for over 18)
3. Helmet With Strap Required For Each Driver/Rider:
         a.   Bring your own helmet (with strap), or
         b.   Rent helmet at track for $2 each--Sizes to XL
4. All Participants Required to Attend Safety Orientation
5. Waiver Required to Attend Any Activity (Watch or Drive)

TRACK LIABILITY WAIVERS
    
Each person (family / household members can use one waiver) is required to complete and sign a Track Waiver of Liability upon entering our facility. Instructions will begin only after each participant shows the instructor their hand stamp received after signing the waiver.  Participants may bring completed waivers with them.  Each person should have their waiver in hand when checking in.

SCHEDULE & AMENITIES
    
Team Building Events are normally scheduled during the work day in 3 hour time periods.  We will adjust to fit your needs whenever possible.  Each event time period includes:
               3 hours use of a tent next to the track
               3 tables 8' long and about 25 chairs in the tent
               Track Time is the middle 2 hours of the 3 hour event time
                     period (first and last 1/2 hour in tent only)                                            
               Use of a fleet of about 8 box cars during track time
               Group Safety Instruction

     Safety Instructions are scheduled to begin in the tent 15 minutes before Track Time if most participants have arrived. If too many people are late instructions will be delayed, which can result in lost track time. An extra 15 minutes is allowed before and after each event time period for set-up and clean-up.  Please plan to arrive and depart on time. Participants who arrived after instructions begin will have to wait until an instructor is available for the next full instruction, which will reduce their track time.

TEAM BUILDING EVENT PROGRAM FEE
$275 Flat Rate for up to 35 people,
     plus $7 extra for each person after 35 people
     Includes everyone, watch or drive,

SINGLE TRACK CAPACITY = 45 people, watch or drive

DOUBLE TRACK PARTY is required for over 45 people = $550 flat rate up to 70 people plus $7 extra for each person after 70 people up to 90

DOUBLE TRACK CAPACITY = 90 people, watch or drive

PAYMENT
    
Payment in full of the program fee is normally due 3 days after making the reservation.  If your event exceeds 35 people (or 70 for a double track party), we will settle up in the middle of the party for the overage and/or helmet rental.  Refunds for canceling the event time will be made only if: 1) requested 30 days ahead of the event or 2) the original event time can be rebooked.  You may change your event time/date at any time 30 days ahead of the event. Changes requested less than 30 days before the event will incur a $95 change fee for each occurrence, which is refundable only if we are able to rebook your original event time.

     You are welcome to call to confirm receipt of your program fee payment. No confirmation notice will be sent, but you will be called if your payment does not arrive as agreed. A reasonable contact effort is made before ABCRI cancels a reservation.

FOOD & DRINK
    
You may bring your own food and soft drinks. No cooking or food machines like shave ice are allowed. Sterno food warmers are OK.  Click Here for Food Options..

NO ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED ON ABCRI PREMISES...!  If any alcohol is found, the group activity will end immediately with NO REFUND given. 
Sorry, but no music is allowed, either.  We have neighbors close by.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION
    
Please arrive on time and read the posted Safety Rules immediately.  Safety Instruction are scheduled to begin in the tent about 10 minutes before Track Time if most guests have arrived. If too many people are late, instructions will be delayed which can result in lost track time. Please make sure your entire group PAYS ATTENTION during the orientation.  People who learn and follow the Track Safety Rules have safe and happy events—and learn driving skills. People who do not follow Track Rules run the risk of injury.

TRACK MARSHALS
Please plan to recruit 2 to 4 Track Marshals for your event. Track Marshall adults are needed to be on the track in pairs to monitor the safe use of the ramp and track. Rotating Track Marshals usually works best, so more is better.

EQUIPMENT & REPAIR CHARGES
    
About 8 box cars are provided for use with each 3 lane track.  The "Sumo" box cars can hold up to a 300 pound adult. REPAIR CHARGES:  $10 each for broken steering cables and other box car repairs due to beyond-normal treatment.

FACILITY & WEATHER
    
Each Group will have its own tent next to the track. The tracks are about 500' long with 3 lanes and 12 turns.  Starting ramps provide most of the power. Each tent has three 8' tables and 20+ chairs.  Few people sit during a box car event, even in the rain!  Box Cars perform well in rainy weather and can add to the excitement. On rainy days bring towels and, if desired, trash bags (w/scissors) to make ponchos. Sun block is recommended year-round. Driving in the rain is fun and equals full use of facility.  BOX CAR RACING IS AN ALL WEATHER ADVENTURE!
