RACING PROGRAM GUIDELINES

OVERVIEW: Any driver can race in Open Racing once they have practiced for at least two hours.  A valid Annual Track Pass is required to show proof of prior box car practice.  Participation in one Open Race is required to qualify for Championships Races. All Drivers must pass Race Instructor Review.

Open and Championship Racing occur on the same race day evening. Classes are separate, and drivers must choose to race in either Open or Championship Racing, but not both. Once a driver moves up to Championship Racing they will not be able to drive in Open Racing again.

Registration Opens 5:00 pm
         Practice   6:00 pm - 7:00+ pm

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
      
Registration   5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
         Practice   6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
         Driver's Meeting 6:45 pm
         Racing Begins  6:50 pm
         Award Ceremony 7:30+ pm -- Following Racing & Track Cleanup

OPEN RACING
Driver Requirements

         1. Valid Track Pass & 2 Hours Minimum Driving On Family Track (must complete by 5:00 pm on Race Day)
         2. Helmets: All drivers must wear a helmet with strap which fits well and is worn properly with chin straps tight. 
                 Loose helmet straps or wrong size helmet will disqualify driver from heat.
         3. Sport Shoes covering feet entirely and Long Pants covering ankles fully
                 (Shorts OK for over 18, but NOT recommended)

Race Format
         1. Box Cars Provided
         2. Up To Five Classes (Keiki - Adult)
         3. Driver's Skill Format -- Drivers Rotate Through Lanes & Cars

Cost
.        1. Free to all Students, $10 Per Adult
         2. Box Cars Provided At No Cost (as available, drivers may need to share cars)

CHAMPIONSHIP RACING

         1. Certified As Competition Ready by ABCRI Race Committee
         2. Helmets: All drivers must wear a helmet with strap which fits well and is worn properly with chin straps tight.

         2. 6 Classes (Novice - Cruiser)
         3. Qualifying Heats / Finals Format

Cost
        
1. Free to all Students, $10 Per Adult
         2. Box Car Rental (Supply Limited):  Free to all Students, $10 Per Adult
             (Driver may share car with up to 2 Drivers in other classes)

Qualifying
         1. To Qualify, Drivers must have raced in 1 Open Race on a previous Race Day.

Awards
         1. Participation in a minimum of 3 Championship Races is required to qualify for end of season award.
