YOUTH GROUP FIELD TRIPS (weekday only)

GENERAL INFO
     Youth Groups with professional paid staff members who are helping youth in need of support are welcome to come to the ABCRI Box Car Track in a Field Trip by private reservation during the week. Youth Groups wishing to come on the weekend should call BC (office 947-3393, cell 382-5653) for more info before coming.

RESERVATIONS
     Call the ABCRI office at 947-3393 to discuss how we can best accommodate your group's needs and make reservations.  Counselors and adults must be physically able to actively work with the youth on the track

YOUTH GROUP CONTRACT
     Every Youth Group must complete a youth group contract
After making your reservation, mail contract and payment to:  
                                         ABCRI

                                         Honolulu, Hawaii  96822

PROGRAM FEE
$6 per student (includes siblings and support staff under 18).
Minimum: $180 for single track / $330 minimum for double track.  Adults are Free.

DEPOSIT
A deposit is required within 1 week after of making a Field Trip reservation, unless other arrangements are made at time of reservation:
                 $180 for single track
                 $330 for double track
Deposits can be refunded only if:
1) The Field Trip is canceled or rescheduled at least 30 days prior to your event date
     or
2) The time period is rebooked by another group.

TRACK SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
YOUTH GROUP FIELD TRIPS

1. An Appropriate Number Of Adult (paid) Staff  Must Come With
       Youth
(under 18)--Other Adults Welcome
2. Everyone Must Wear Sports Shoes Covering Feet Entirely--Watch or Drive
3. Youth (under 18) Must Wear Long Pants Covering Ankles Fully
4. Helmet ** With Strap Required For Each Driver/Rider
5. Adults Train & Supervise Youth On Track
6. Adults Rotate As Track Marshals, Enforcing Track Safety Rules
7. All Participants Required To Attend Safety Orientation
8. Waiver Required to Attend Any Activity (Watch or Drive)

  • * STAFF REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Staff/Adults must participate with students on the track (not sitting  in tent talking story)      Recommended Staff/Adult-to-student ratios:
             1st-3rd grades:  1-to-4
             4th-6rd grades:  1-to-6
             7th & older:       1-to-8
    If the adults are not able to effectively supervise the students on the
    track,
    the number of students participating at one time will be limited.
  • ** HELMETS:
    1.   Bring Your Own Helmet With Strap if Possible
    2.   Or Rent Bicycle Helmet At Track For $2 Each--Sizes To XL

OTHER OPTIONS
    
Smaller Youth Groups make also come:
1.   As a Family Event (by private reservation on weekends or weekday evenings)
2.   During Open Track Hours (weekends & holidays, no reservation needed)

     NOTE: Youth Groups wishing to come on the weekend should call BC (office 947-3393, cell 382-5653) for more info before coming. Smaller Youth Groups coming as a Family Event or during Open Track Hours require more adult supervision and need to use the following active adult to child ratios:
                                       8 & under = 1 to 1
                                       9 - 12 = 1 to 2
                                       13+ = 1 to 3

SNACKS
BRING COOLERS and cups.  We have potable water but no drinking fountain. Food and drinks may be brought to the track.  A large pavilion tent is available for each track with tables and chairs. All group activities, including eating, must take place during the 4 hour field trip period, unless the period is extended at an additional cost.   Click Here for Catering Options.
